James currently resides in Southwest London, where he helps manage SVDG’s United Kingdom-based equities.

With a background in public service, James previously worked in the United States Defense Department, where he supported the activities of Naval Research, Development, and Acquisitions. Prior to his time in the Pentagon, he worked in the Executive Branch, serving as the Private Secretary to the White House Chief of Staff, where he provided counsel and operational support to the Chief of Staff and members of the White House senior team.

Before his time working in the West Wing, James was the Special Assistant to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and simultaneously supported the Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the same capacity.

A native of North Carolina, he holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge, where he was a member of Selwyn College. He also holds two undergraduate degrees from the University of South Carolina.
