John is Vice President and Managing Director of Global Affairs at Viasat, Inc.

John previously served as the Managing Director of Viasat UK, where he oversaw operations, technology development and support for sovereign UK and allied nation programs from offices in Farnborough, UK. John also served previously as the General Manager of TX, a Government Systems business area that brings resilient multi-path, multi-technology connectivity solutions to users across the US Government and International communities from offices in College Station, TX.

Prior to joining Viasat, John served from 2002-2017 in the US Government, where he served in multiple leadership roles in the foreign service community.

Outside of his role at Viasat, John is a founding partner of the Silicon Valley Defense Group, a non-profit organization that seeks to align and connect the people, capital, and ideas that will ensure allied democracies retain a durable techno-security advantage.

John has a degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and was a member of the 2020 Stanford GSB Executive Leadership cohort.
