Mike Moreno

Michael Moreno covers Space and National Security on the Worldwide Public Sector VC and Startups team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). He has advised investors and startups in space, defense, digital health, cleantech, cybersecurity, fintech, and adjacent markets. For AWS, he helps startups on go to market strategy, fundraising, product development, and cloud computing. He also co-founded and led the AWS Space Accelerator.

Mike worked previously at Viasat, where he led qualitative competitive intelligence & strategy. He is a founding board member of Sound Off, a telemedicine platform that connects military veterans with pro bono mental health clinicians securely and anonymously. Prior to working in tech, Mike served for over a decade in the US Government. He was as an Operations Officer in the Central Intelligence Agency, and has held positions in the Department of Defense and Department of State, as well as managing training at the FBI Academy.

Mike left government to co-found two tech startups in the Middle East. He has an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University, and a BA in Organizational Studies from Pitzer College.
