Silicon Valley Defense Group Congratulates Mike Brown on His Nomination for Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment

The Silicon Valley Defense Group (SVDG) extends its congratulations to Mr. Mike Brown on today’s announcement that President Joe Biden intends to nominate him to become the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, a critical leadership position within the Department of Defense for ensuring that the U.S. is prepared to face current and future threats.
By selecting Mr. Brown, who has led a successful career focused on defense innovation, including most recently as the Director of the Department of Defense’s Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), the Biden Administration has demonstrated its commitment to building a Pentagon that is at the forefront of technology.
Mr. Brown’s success at DIU in ensuring the Department of Defense is able to rapidly acquire new technologies and building connections between private sector innovators and military officials is a testament to the leadership he will bring to the Department. Leveraging the innovation of the private sector will be critical to bringing new capabilities to the Pentagon that prepare the United States for 21st-century national security challenges. Mike Brown is uniquely qualified to take on this mission and continue to champion the Pentagon’s innovation efforts.
