Mission-First AI: Moving at the Speed of Warfighter Need (Virtualitics)
SVDG Sponsor Highlight by Rob Bocek, Chief Revenue Officer, Virtualitics
At Virtualitics, we’re not building AI for tomorrow—we’re deploying it today, to attack the most significant challenges around Readiness.
As a former Navy SEAL tactical Commander, I’ve led operations where timely decisions meant the difference between ultimate success and mission failure. As a defense tech executive, I’ve implemented solutions that can’t afford to sit on a shelf. That’s why at Virtualitics, everything we do starts and ends with accelerating mission impact at the speed of need.
I recently joined a panel at the Potomac Officers Club to talk about defense acquisitions in the age of AI. What struck me was a shared urgency across government and industry: we don’t have the luxury of waiting. Global competitors are already on a wartime footing.
Meanwhile, our mission-capable rates are plummeting, our fleets are aging, our people are overstretched, and readiness levels are degrading.
The DoD is grappling with a new truth: we can’t afford to buy AI like we procured Enterprise software in 2010. AI models and algorithms are evolving every few weeks, not every few years.
Outcomes Over Outputs
It’s time to stop buying software outputs and start investing in mission outcomes.
The DoD needs more than dashboards and data lakes. It needs decision-ready insights—fast. That’s why Virtualitics builds AI applications designed for speed, scale, and trust. We’re putting decision intelligence in the hands of the warfighters so they can act decisively and with confidence. From predictive sustainment to force readiness and materiel optimization, our AI solutions don’t just show commanders what’s happening—they tell them what to do next.
One of our users, a senior NCO at a USAF Wing, with no data science background and limited training with our technology, used our platform to instantaneously surface hidden insights on 10 years of data that may have taken days to uncover. That’s the power of explainable, accessible AI at the tactical edge.
From Pathfinder to Production
Our relationship with the U.S. Air Force started during COVID. It began with a basic modeling task: assess 2nd and 3rd order effects of quarantining personnel. That evolved into production efforts across munitions planning, sustainment modeling, and integrated readiness.
Over the past 12 months, Virtualitics has secured four Phase III SBIR production contracts—a feat achieved by fewer than 1% of companies in the program. These aren’t R&D pilots. They’re customer-funded solutions solving operational problems at scale. This is Mission AI on the move.
Partnership, Not Procurement
Virtualitics doesn’t show up with a product and a pitch. We show up with a whiteboard, a mission-first mindset, and a sense of urgency.
We train with the teams, co-develop with commanders, and embed with sustainers. Our job is to understand the challenge and configure the AI to solve it—together.
This is what defense AI should look like. Outcome-driven. Trustworthy. Culture that permeates a mission first mindset.
We are excited to be new partners with SVDG and look forward to the opportunity to meet with many of you. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to learn more about partner opportunities or our capabilities.
